Spring 2024 Member Meeting

Roadmap to Equitable & Inclusive Schools

Roadmap to Equitable & Inclusive Schools

Lauren Katzman giving welcome speech

Our theme for this meeting is Roadmap to Equitable & Inclusive Schools. How do we move from vision to action? What is required to move districts to more equitable and inclusive practices? What is needed to ensure that students with disabilities have equal access to high academic standards? We hope that districts will share their own roadmaps; what worked and equally important, cautionary tales of roads they should not enter.

Submit a Proposal by March 6, 2024

To engage with your colleagues, we encourage you to submit a proposal addressing the theme of the meeting – Roadmap to Equitable & Inclusive Schools. Proposal submission deadline is March 6, 2024. We are looking for proposals on actions that have worked and those that have not and can help districts avoid unnecessary issues. Here are some questions to help you think through your proposal and we encourage you to reach out to us to discuss your ideas: How has your district moved from vision to action? What instructional practices have supported equity and inclusion? What policies have been effective? What partnerships have been effective? How have you included families and students in your actions? How can the law and the history of special education be used to help move districts?
